These crispy crescent rolls are stuffed with seasoned ground beef, melted cheddar cheese, and a tangy special sauce, making a perfect quick snack or party treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio recommended)
  • 1 yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (about 100 g)
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 count)
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise (80 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon pickle relish
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and diced onion.
  2. Cook, stirring occasionally, until beef is browned and onions are soft, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Drain excess fat if necessary, then season with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Cook for another 2 minutes to let flavors meld. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Whisk until smooth and refrigerate while preparing rolls.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles.
  7. Place about 2 tablespoons of cheeseburger filling near the wide end of each triangle.
  8. Sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese over the beef.
  9. Roll up each triangle from the wide end toward the point, tucking in filling to prevent leaks.
  10. Place rolls seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spaced about 1 inch apart.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy, watching after 10 minutes to avoid over-browning.
  12. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  13. Serve warm with chilled special sauce on the side for dipping or drizzling.

Notes

Use refrigerated crescent dough straight from the fridge for best crispiness. Avoid overcrowding the pan when browning beef. Let beef cool slightly before assembling to prevent soggy dough. If rolls puff too much, gently press down before baking. For gluten-free, use gluten-free crescent dough; for dairy-free, use dairy-free cheese. Rolls can be assembled ahead and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking. Freeze unbaked rolls on a tray, then transfer to freezer bag; bake from frozen adding a few extra minutes.
