A bold and balanced margarita combining sweet ripe mango with fiery habanero, finished with a tangy, smoky Tajín rim. Perfect for summer parties and adventurous cocktail lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh mango, peeled and diced
  • ½ small habanero pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • ½ ounce agave syrup
  • 1 ounce triple sec or orange liqueur
  • Tajín seasoning for rimming the glass
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional garnish: mango slice or lime wedge

Instructions

  1. Place the diced mango and chopped habanero in a cocktail shaker. Use a muddler or wooden spoon to crush them together until pulpy and juices are released (about 1-2 minutes). Wash hands immediately after handling habanero.
  2. Add 2 oz tequila blanco, 1 oz triple sec, 1 oz fresh lime juice, and ½ oz agave syrup to the shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker halfway with ice cubes.
  4. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker feels cold.
  5. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip it into a plate of Tajín seasoning to coat evenly.
  6. Strain the margarita into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice, using a fine strainer to keep out seeds and pulp.
  7. Garnish with a mango slice or lime wedge and serve immediately.

Notes

Adjust habanero amount to control heat level. Use fresh lime juice and ripe mango for best flavor. Pre-chill glass for a smoother drink. Tajín rim adds a unique tangy, smoky flavor; substitute with chili powder, lime zest, and salt if unavailable. Wash hands thoroughly after handling habanero to avoid irritation.
