These refreshing orange slice jello cups are a quick, colorful, and fun halftime treat perfect for kids and family gatherings. They combine tangy orange slices suspended in sweet, wobbly jello for a nostalgic and satisfying snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 oz (85 g) Orange Jello Mix (e.g., Jell-O)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Boiling Water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Cold Water
  • About 1 cup (150 g) Frozen Orange Slices (or fresh/canned, patted dry)
  • Optional: Whipped Cream or Fresh Mint Leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring 1 cup (240 ml) of water to a rolling boil.
  2. In a mixing bowl, pour the boiling water over the 3 oz (85 g) packet of orange jello mix. Whisk thoroughly until fully dissolved (about 2 minutes).
  3. Stir in 1 cup (240 ml) of cold water to cool the mixture and help it set properly.
  4. Place about 3-4 frozen orange slices in each small cup or mold, arranging evenly.
  5. Slowly pour the jello mixture over the orange slices in each cup, filling almost to the top but leaving a small gap.
  6. Refrigerate the cups for at least 3-4 hours until completely set. Alternatively, chill for 2 hours in a freezer-safe container to speed up setting.
  7. Before serving, optionally garnish with whipped cream or fresh mint leaves.

Notes

Let the jello mixture cool slightly before pouring over frozen orange slices to prevent melting. Use a ladle or spoon to pour slowly and keep fruit in place. Chill for at least 3 hours for best firmness. Frozen orange slices provide a frosted look and hold shape better than fresh. Optional garnishes include whipped cream or fresh mint. For vegan versions, substitute gelatin with agar-agar and use natural fruit juice jelly.
