A quick and easy smoothie bowl that tastes indulgent but is packed with protein and healthy fats. Ready in just five minutes with simple ingredients you probably already have.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large frozen banana (peeled and sliced before freezing)
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter (preferably Justin’s or Smucker’s Natural)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (plus more as needed)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (about 30g; Orgain Simple or Vega recommended)
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla; dairy-free coconut yogurt for vegan)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • For the toppings (optional): granola, sliced banana, chia seeds or flax seeds, dark chocolate chips or cacao nibs, extra drizzle of peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients. Make sure the banana is frozen solid.
  2. Pour the almond milk into your blender first.
  3. Add the frozen banana, peanut butter, Greek yogurt, protein powder, and a pinch of salt. If using honey or maple syrup, add it now.
  4. Blend on low, then increase to high for about 30-45 seconds until thick and creamy like soft-serve ice cream. If too thick, add almond milk one tablespoon at a time. If too thin, add more frozen banana or protein powder.
  5. Scrape down the sides with a spatula and blend for another 10-15 seconds.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or peanut butter flavor as desired.
  7. Spoon into bowls. The mixture should be thick enough to hold its shape.
  8. Add your desired toppings.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use frozen banana for the best creamy texture. Do not over-blend or the mixture will warm up and lose thickness. If the bowl is too thick, add liquid slowly. Scrape the blender well to get every bit of peanut butter. For a nut-free version, swap peanut butter with sunflower seed butter and use oat milk. The protein powder is optional but helps thicken the bowl and keeps you full longer.
