This cozy fall fruit salad with honey yogurt dressing is a simple, beautiful dish that tastes like the season in a bowl. It’s perfect for holiday tables, weeknight treats, or a comforting side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji)
  • 2 medium ripe but firm pears (Bartlett or Bosc)
  • 1 cup seedless red grapes, halved
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate arils (optional)
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, honey, lemon juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Taste and adjust sweetness or tanginess as desired. Set aside in the fridge.
  2. Core the apples and cut into bite-sized chunks. Toss with a little lemon juice to prevent browning.
  3. Core and chop the pears into similar-sized pieces. Toss with lemon juice if not using immediately.
  4. Halve the grapes lengthwise.
  5. Optional: Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Let cool.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine the apples, pears, grapes, dried cranberries, and pomegranate arils (if using). Gently toss.
  7. Pour the dressing over the fruit and fold gently until evenly coated.
  8. Sprinkle the toasted pecans on top and fold once more. Reserve a few pecans for garnish.
  9. Chill in the fridge for 15-20 minutes before serving, if time allows. Serve cold or at room temperature.

Notes

For best results, use cold fruit and full-fat or 2% Greek yogurt. Toast the pecans for extra flavor. The salad tastes even better after sitting in the fridge for an hour. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Do not freeze.
