This creamy buffalo chicken dip with ranch drizzle is a quick and easy crowd-pleaser, ready in about 20 minutes. It combines tangy buffalo sauce with a cool, herby ranch drizzle for the perfect balance of heat and richness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (about 10 ounces) cooked chicken, shredded
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup buffalo hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 to 4 green onions, sliced
  • Optional: blue cheese crumbles, extra hot sauce for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Make the ranch drizzle: In a small bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, mayonnaise, and ranch seasoning mix until smooth. Set aside in the fridge.
  3. Soften the cream cheese if needed by cutting into small cubes and letting it sit for 10 minutes.
  4. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sour cream with a hand mixer until smooth and fluffy, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Add the buffalo hot sauce and mix on low speed until fully incorporated. Taste and adjust heat if desired.
  6. Fold in the shredded chicken and shredded cheddar cheese with a rubber spatula until evenly distributed.
  7. Transfer the mixture to an 8×8 baking dish and spread into an even layer.
  8. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until hot and bubbly around the edges.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for 2 minutes. Drizzle the ranch mixture over the top in a zigzag pattern and sprinkle with sliced green onions. Add optional garnishes if desired.
  10. Serve immediately with chips, crackers, or vegetables.

Notes

Do not overbake; check at 12 minutes if your oven runs hot. Use room temperature cream cheese for a smooth texture. Shred your own cheese for best melting. Let the dip rest 2-3 minutes before serving for easier scooping.
