A quick and easy fall-inspired cold brew float combining bold coffee, creamy pumpkin puree, and a cinnamon sugar rim for a refreshing and cozy treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold brew coffee, chilled
  • 2 tablespoons (about 30 grams) pumpkin puree (plain canned pumpkin)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream, cold (can substitute with coconut cream for dairy-free)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for rim and pinch in pumpkin mix)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for rimming the glass)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Rim: Mix 1 tablespoon cinnamon and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar on a plate. Moisten the rim of your glass by rubbing a lemon wedge or a little water around it. Dip the rim carefully into the cinnamon sugar mixture, twisting slightly to coat evenly. Set aside to dry for a minute.
  2. Whip the Pumpkin Cream: In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree, 1/4 cup cold heavy cream, 1 tablespoon maple syrup, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (if using), and a pinch of cinnamon. Whisk vigorously until smooth and slightly thickened, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Fill the Glass with Ice: Add enough ice cubes to fill about half to three-quarters of the glass (roughly 1/2 cup or 120 ml of ice).
  4. Pour the Cold Brew: Slowly pour 1 cup (240 ml) of chilled cold brew coffee over the ice, leaving room on top for the pumpkin cream.
  5. Add the Pumpkin Cream Float: Gently spoon or pour the pumpkin cream mixture over the cold brew to float on top, creating a layered effect.
  6. Serve Immediately: Present with a straw or spoon for stirring. Stir before drinking if desired to blend flavors.

Notes

Use cold ingredients to keep the float crisp and refreshing. Rim the glass before adding ice to prevent the cinnamon sugar from washing away. Whisk pumpkin cream well to achieve a smooth but pourable texture. For dairy-free, substitute heavy cream with chilled coconut cream and maple syrup with agave or honey. Prepare pumpkin cream up to 24 hours ahead and keep chilled. Assemble float fresh for best texture.
