A creamy and delicious overnight oats recipe combining tangy cream cheese, sweet strawberries, and a velvety texture for a perfect make-ahead breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats (old-fashioned)
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (whole milk or almond/oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 3 oz (85g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (120g) Greek yogurt, plain
  • 1 cup (about 150g) fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons strawberry jam or preserves
  • 12 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine chopped fresh strawberries, strawberry jam, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon of honey. Stir gently and set aside to macerate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with vanilla extract and cinnamon until smooth.
  3. Add milk and Greek yogurt to the cream cheese mixture. Whisk well to combine until silky smooth.
  4. In a large bowl, stir together rolled oats and chia seeds (if using).
  5. Pour the creamy mixture over the oats and stir until fully combined.
  6. Gently fold in the macerated strawberries and syrup, being careful not to crush the berries.
  7. Taste the mixture and add more honey or maple syrup if desired.
  8. Spoon the mixture into 3-4 airtight containers or mason jars. Seal tightly and refrigerate overnight or at least 6 hours.
  9. In the morning, give the oats a quick stir. Serve cold or warm slightly in the microwave for 30 seconds. Optionally top with extra fresh strawberries or granola.

Notes

Always soften the cream cheese before mixing to avoid lumps. Use old-fashioned rolled oats for best texture. Macerate strawberries to release juices and enhance flavor. Refrigerate at least 6 hours, ideally 8-12 hours for creamiest results. Stir in a splash of milk if oats are too thick in the morning. Can be warmed for 30 seconds in microwave or eaten cold.
