This recipe delivers juicy pork chops with a crispy crust and perfectly tender green beans, all cooked quickly and easily in an air fryer for a satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops, bone-in or boneless, about 1-inch thick
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Onion powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (use gluten-free flour if needed)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (use gluten-free breadcrumbs if needed)
  • Olive oil or avocado oil spray
  • 12 ounces fresh green beans, trimmed and washed
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Optional: red pepper flakes
  • Optional: lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Pat 4 pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and onion powder. (Approx. 5 minutes)
  2. Set up the breading station with three shallow bowls: 1/2 cup flour, 1 beaten egg, and 1 cup panko breadcrumbs. Lightly season the flour and panko with salt and pepper.
  3. Dredge each pork chop first in flour, shaking off excess. Dip into the egg wash, then coat thoroughly with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Set aside on a plate. (Approx. 10 minutes)
  4. Trim the ends of 12 ounces fresh green beans. Toss them in a bowl with 1 tablespoon olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. (Approx. 5 minutes)
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
  6. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil. Place pork chops in a single layer without overcrowding. Cook at 400°F for 10 minutes, flip, and cook an additional 8-10 minutes until internal temperature reaches 145°F and crust is golden brown.
  7. Add the green beans to the basket in the last 6 minutes of cooking. Shake halfway through to cook evenly. Beans should be tender-crisp with a slight char.
  8. Let pork chops rest for 3-5 minutes before serving. Arrange pork chops and green beans on plates. (Approx. 5 minutes)

Notes

Pat pork chops dry before seasoning to help coating stick better. Lightly spray oil after breading to avoid sogginess. Use a meat thermometer to ensure pork reaches 145°F for juiciness. If air fryer basket is small, cook pork chops and green beans separately to maintain crispness. Leftovers store well up to 3 days; reheat pork chops in air fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes and green beans in a skillet.
