A quick and easy 12-minute recipe for crispy skin salmon cooked in an air fryer, flavored with fresh lemon and dill for a bright, fresh taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Salmon fillets, skin-on, about 6 oz (170 g) per person
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Zest of one lemon
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Black pepper, a few cracks
  • Fresh lemon juice, for serving
  • Optional garnish: lemon wedges and extra dill sprigs

Instructions

  1. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture and trim any thin edges for even cooking (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, lemon zest, chopped dill, salt, and black pepper; stir to mix.
  3. Brush or rub the olive oil and seasoning mix evenly over both sides of each salmon fillet (about 3 minutes).
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
  5. Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket without overlapping (about 1 minute).
  6. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes depending on thickness, checking at 10 minutes to avoid overcooking.
  7. Once cooked, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the salmon immediately.
  8. Garnish with extra dill sprigs and lemon wedges and serve immediately.

Notes

Patting the salmon dry is essential for crispy skin. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to avoid steaming. Preheat the air fryer for best results. Check for doneness at 10 minutes to prevent overcooking. Let salmon rest briefly after cooking to redistribute juices. Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to maintain crispiness.
