  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50g) panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • Olive oil spray or cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper. (takes about 3 minutes)
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine grated Parmesan, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Mix well. (takes about 2 minutes)
  3. In another bowl, whisk the egg until smooth. (takes 1 minute)
  4. Dip each pork chop into the beaten egg, letting excess drip off, then press firmly into the Parmesan mixture, coating both sides evenly. (takes 5 minutes)
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Spray the air fryer basket lightly with olive oil spray. Place chops in a single layer without overlapping. Spray the tops lightly with oil as well.
  7. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. Check internal temperature after 10 minutes; it should be 145°F (63°C).
  8. Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat chops dry to ensure crust sticks well. Press coating firmly onto chops. Spray olive oil lightly to promote browning. Avoid overcrowding air fryer basket. Use a meat thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Let meat rest before serving. For gluten-free, substitute panko with almond flour or crushed gluten-free crackers. For dairy-free, substitute Parmesan with nutritional yeast.
