A fun, budget-friendly Halloween guacamole dip shaped like Frankenstein’s monster. Made with simple ingredients, it’s a kid-approved snack that’s quick to prepare and perfect for parties or a festive family treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe avocados
  • 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
  • 1–2 jalapeños, seeded and minced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 2–3 black olives, sliced
  • 1–2 carrot sticks, cut into small triangles
  • 1 small bell pepper (any color), cut into a mouth shape
  • Tortilla chips or veggie sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut each avocado in half lengthwise, twist to separate, and remove the pit. Scoop the flesh into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocados to your desired consistency (leave some chunks for texture).
  3. Add the diced red onion, minced jalapeño (if using), chopped cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Stir gently to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Gently fold in the diced tomato. Do not overmix.
  5. Transfer the guacamole to a serving plate or shallow bowl. Use the back of a spoon to spread it into a flat, even layer.
  6. Place two olive slices near the top of the guacamole for the eyes. Press them in gently.
  7. Stick a carrot triangle on each side of the guacamole near the top for the bolts.
  8. Use the bell pepper piece to create a zigzag mouth and place it below the eyes. Press gently.
  9. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or veggie sticks.

Notes

For best results, use ripe Hass avocados. To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole if making ahead. Add face decorations just before serving. Let kids help with mashing and decorating for a fun activity.
