A quick and easy Halloween snack mix made with popcorn, candy corn, and chocolate. Perfect for parties and movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups popped popcorn (about 1 standard bag of microwave popcorn or 1/2 cup unpopped kernels)
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 1 cup candy pumpkins (optional)
  • 1/2 cup roasted salted peanuts
  • 1 cup white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup festive sprinkles (optional)
  • 1/4 cup pretzel sticks (optional)
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn (5 minutes). If using microwave popcorn, pop according to package directions. If using kernels, pop in an air popper or on the stovetop with 2 tablespoons of oil. You want 8 cups of popped popcorn. Remove any unpopped kernels.
  2. Spread popcorn on a baking sheet (2 minutes). Pour the popped popcorn onto a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread it into an even layer. Remove any unpopped kernels.
  3. Add the candy and nuts (2 minutes). Sprinkle the candy corn, candy pumpkins (if using), and roasted peanuts evenly over the popcorn. Toss gently with your hands to distribute.
  4. Melt the white chocolate (2 minutes). Place the white chocolate melting wafers in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring after each, until smooth and fully melted. Add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil if the chocolate seems too thick.
  5. Drizzle the white chocolate (2 minutes). Using a fork or a small spoon, drizzle the melted white chocolate over the popcorn mixture. Move back and forth across the baking sheet to get even coverage.
  6. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate (2 minutes). In a separate small bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips with 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil. Use the same microwave method: 30-second bursts, stirring between each.
  7. Drizzle the semi-sweet chocolate (2 minutes). Drizzle the melted semi-sweet chocolate over the popcorn in the same back-and-forth motion.
  8. Add sprinkles (1 minute). If using festive sprinkles, sprinkle them over the wet chocolate immediately.
  9. Let it set (15-20 minutes). Allow the snack mix to sit at room temperature until the chocolate is fully set. Do not refrigerate.
  10. Break into pieces and serve (2 minutes). Once set, use your hands to gently break the snack mix into bite-sized clusters. Transfer to a serving bowl.

Notes

Use plain or lightly salted popcorn; avoid butter-flavored. White chocolate burns easily—microwave in short bursts. For best texture, make the same day you plan to serve. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
