A simple, no-fuss charcuterie board for two that comes together in under 10 minutes. Perfect for a quiet night in, this board is all about zero effort and maximum reward.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3–4 ounces soft cheese (brie or camembert)
  • 3–4 ounces hard cheese (sharp cheddar, aged gouda, or manchego)
  • 2 ounces funky cheese (blue cheese or goat cheese, optional)
  • 4–6 slices salami or prosciutto
  • 2–3 slices cooked meat (leftover roast beef or grilled chicken, optional)
  • 8–10 crackers or crostini
  • 1 small handful nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 1 small handful fruit (red grapes, sliced apple, pear, or dried apricots/figs)
  • 1 drizzle honey or dollop jam (fig jam or runny honey)
  • A few cornichons or olives

Instructions

  1. Set the Stage: Grab your board or plate. Give it a quick wipe. Place your small bowl for the olives or jam somewhere on the board.
  2. Place the Cheese: Put your soft cheese (brie) and hard cheese (cheddar) on the board, spaced apart. Cut the hard cheese into a few slices or cubes. Leave the brie whole.
  3. Add the Meat: Fold or roll your salami slices and place them in a little pile near one of the cheeses.
  4. Fill the Gaps with Crunch: Put your crackers in a small stack or two around the board. Scatter your nuts in the empty spaces.
  5. Add the Sweet and Tangy: Place your grapes or fruit in a little cluster. Put the cornichons or olives in the small bowl. Drizzle a little honey over the brie or put a dollop of jam next to it.
  6. Finish and Serve: Step back and look at it. If there are any big empty spots, throw in a few more nuts or crackers. Serve immediately.

Notes

Let cheese sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before serving for best flavor. Don’t overthink the layout; casual piles look inviting. Balance flavors: pair salty meat with sweet fruit, mild cheese with tangy pickles. Prep ahead by slicing cheese and washing fruit when unpacking groceries.
