Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 boneless, skin-on turkey breast (about 2–3 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup orange marmalade
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Pinch of ground cloves (optional)
  • Fresh orange slices (for garnish, optional)
  • Fresh cranberries (for garnish, optional)
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Position the rack in the middle of the oven. Take the turkey breast out of the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
  2. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil all over the turkey breast and rub it in. Sprinkle the salt, pepper, and garlic powder evenly over all sides. Place the turkey breast skin-side up in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the cranberry sauce, orange marmalade, orange juice, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. Whisk until smooth. Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the glaze thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
  5. Using a pastry brush, brush a generous layer of glaze all over the turkey breast. Reserve about half the glaze for later.
  6. Bake the turkey for 25 minutes.
  7. After 25 minutes, remove the turkey from the oven. Brush on another layer of glaze, using about half of what’s left. Return to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
  8. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the breast (avoiding bone if using bone-in). The turkey is done when it reaches 155°F (68°C). If not there yet, bake for another 5-10 minutes and check again.
  9. Once the turkey reaches 155°F, remove it from the oven. Brush on the remaining glaze. Tent the dish loosely with aluminum foil and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
  10. Transfer the turkey breast to a cutting board. Slice against the grain into 1/2-inch thick pieces. Spoon any remaining glaze from the baking dish over the slices. Garnish with fresh orange slices, cranberries, and herbs if desired.

Notes

For best results, pat the turkey dry before seasoning to ensure crispy skin. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy; the turkey is done at 155°F and will reach 165°F while resting. If the glaze starts to burn before the turkey is cooked through, tent with foil. For a bone-in turkey breast, increase cooking time by 15-20 minutes. Make extra glaze to serve as a sauce on the side.
