A fun and simple Halloween snack featuring hotdogs wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough baked to crispy perfection, decorated with mustard or ketchup eyes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz / 227 g) crescent roll dough, store-bought refrigerated
  • 8 regular-sized hotdogs or 16 mini cocktail sausages (beef, turkey, or vegetarian options)
  • Mustard or ketchup for eyes
  • Black olives or peppercorns (optional, for eyes)
  • Cooking spray or butter to grease the baking sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface and slice into thin strips about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) wide using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  3. Wrap each hotdog with the dough strips, leaving a small gap for the eyes. Wrap loosely to ensure crispiness.
  4. Place the wrapped hotdogs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing about an inch apart.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the dough is golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Use a small spoon or toothpick to dot mustard or ketchup for eyes, or press black olives or peppercorns into the dough.
  8. Serve warm for best taste and texture.

Notes

Chill dough for 10 minutes if too sticky before slicing. Wrap dough loosely to avoid sogginess. Add eyes after baking to prevent burning. Rotate baking sheet halfway for even browning. Can brush dough lightly with melted butter for a buttery sheen. Leftovers store up to 2 days in fridge; reheat in oven to restore crispness. Avoid microwaving.
