These Easy Mummy Hot Dogs with Crescent Dough Wraps are a fun, fast, and adorable Halloween dinner that comes together in 30 minutes. Made with simple ingredients, they’re crispy, buttery, and perfect for a busy weeknight or last-minute Halloween party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs (standard size, not jumbo)
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (e.g., Pillsbury Original Crescents)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Candy eyes (about 16, 2 per mummy)
  • Yellow mustard (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough. Do not separate along perforations; press seams together to form a single rectangle.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough crosswise into thin strips, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide (you should get 12-15 strips).
  4. Take one hot dog and wrap a dough strip around it, stretching slightly. Leave a 1-inch gap at the top for the ‘face’. Repeat with all hot dogs.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to make an egg wash.
  7. Lightly brush the egg wash over the dough strips, avoiding the exposed hot dog face.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffed up.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool on the pan for 2-3 minutes.
  10. While still warm (but not hot), press two candy eyes into the exposed hot dog face. Use a tiny dab of mustard as glue if needed.
  11. Drizzle thin lines of yellow mustard over the dough strips to look like mummy bandages.
  12. Serve immediately.

Notes

Keep the crescent dough cold for easier handling. Do not over-wrap the hot dogs; leave gaps so the dough cooks evenly. For extra crispiness, bake 1-2 minutes longer. If dough strips start to unwrap during baking, secure with a toothpick and remove before serving.
