A quick and easy weeknight dinner featuring perfectly flaky salmon and crispy roasted broccoli, all coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze. Ready in under 30 minutes on a single sheet pan.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 4 cups broccoli florets (about 1 large head)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Position the rack in the center of the oven. Line your sheet pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. Wash and thoroughly dry the broccoli. Cut into bite-sized pieces (1 to 1.5 inches). Place on one side of the prepared sheet pan. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and toss to coat. Spread in a single layer.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, melted butter, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside about 2 tablespoons of this sauce for later.
  4. Roast the broccoli alone for 10 minutes.
  5. While the broccoli roasts, pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper.
  6. After 10 minutes, remove the sheet pan from the oven. Push the broccoli to one side and place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the empty side. Drizzle about half of the remaining honey garlic sauce over the salmon.
  7. Return to the oven and roast for 8 minutes.
  8. Remove the pan again. Brush the reserved sauce over the salmon fillets. Toss the broccoli gently.
  9. Return to the oven for another 4-6 minutes, depending on salmon thickness (1-inch fillets: 4 minutes). Salmon should be opaque and flake easily.
  10. Remove from the oven and let rest for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Notes

For best results, give the broccoli a 10-minute head start before adding the salmon. Pat salmon dry for better glaze adhesion. Let salmon rest after cooking for juicier results. Leftovers keep up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
