Spooky Halloween Jungle Juice Punch - featured image

A light, refreshing Halloween punch made with fresh fruit, cranberry and orange juices, and a touch of rum or vodka. It’s spooky, stunning, and tastes like you put in way more effort than you actually did.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 cup honey or agave nectar
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 3 cups unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 2 cups fresh orange juice (about 4–5 oranges)
  • 1 1/2 cups white rum or vodka
  • 1 cup ginger beer or ginger ale
  • Ice (large block or bundt pan ice ring)
  • 1 ‘hand’ of frozen water or juice (optional garnish)
  • Fresh mint springs (optional garnish)
  • Plastic spiders, eyeballs, or gummy worms (optional garnish)
  • Dry ice (optional, for advanced spookiness)

Instructions

  1. Macerate the Fruit (The Night Before or 2 Hours Ahead): In a medium bowl, combine sliced strawberries, blackberries, and pineapple chunks. Drizzle with honey or agave and fresh lime juice. Using a fork or potato masher, gently mash the fruit a few times to release its juices. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
  2. Prepare the ‘Spooky’ Ice Hand (At Least 8 Hours Before): Fill a clean, unused latex glove with water or extra cranberry juice. Tie the end tightly in a knot. Lay flat on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 8 hours. Once solid, carefully cut the glove off the ice hand.
  3. Combine the Punch Base (30 Minutes Before Serving): In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine the macerated fruit mixture (with all its juices), cranberry juice, fresh orange juice, and rum or vodka. Stir well. If making ahead, store in the fridge.
  4. Add the Fizz and Ice (Right Before Serving): Gently stir in the ginger beer or ginger ale. Add the large block of ice or frozen ice hand (fingers up).
  5. Garnish and Serve: Add plastic spiders, gummy worms, or fresh mint springs. If using dry ice, carefully add a small piece to the bottom of the punch bowl with tongs. Ladle into individual glasses, ensuring some macerated fruit in each serving. Serve immediately.

Notes

Macerating the fruit is essential for flavor. Use a large block of ice to prevent dilution. Add ginger beer last to preserve carbonation. Handle dry ice with tongs and never ingest it. The punch is best consumed within 2-3 hours of assembly.
