A quick and easy non-alcoholic Halloween punch that looks like a witch’s brew with dry ice fog, floating eyeballs, and a delicious balance of tart and sweet flavors. Perfect for kid-friendly parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cranberry juice (100% juice, no added sugar)
  • 2 cups pineapple juice
  • 4 cups lemon-lime soda or ginger ale
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • Ice ring or ice cubes (made with water, sliced limes, cranberries, and rosemary sprigs)
  • 1 can lychees (for eyeballs)
  • 1/2 cup blueberries or raspberries (for eyeballs)
  • 3–4 drops green or purple gel food coloring (optional)
  • 1–2 pounds dry ice (for fog effect)
  • Fresh rosemary or mint sprigs (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the ice ring at least 4 hours before serving: Fill a bundt pan halfway with water, add sliced limes, cranberries, and rosemary sprigs. Freeze for 2 hours, then add more water to fill the pan and freeze until solid.
  2. Prepare the eyeballs (optional, can be done a day ahead): Drain lychees and stuff a blueberry or raspberry into the center of each. Store in the fridge.
  3. Mix the juice base 5 minutes before serving: In a punch bowl or beverage dispenser, combine cranberry juice, pineapple juice, and lime juice. Stir well. Add simple syrup if desired.
  4. Add food coloring if using: Stir in 3-4 drops of green or purple gel food coloring until evenly distributed.
  5. Add the soda right before serving: Pour in lemon-lime soda or ginger ale and stir gently to combine.
  6. Add the ice ring and garnishes: Unmold the ice ring by running the bundt pan under warm water for a few seconds. Float it in the punch. Add lychee eyeballs and extra fruit or herbs.
  7. Add dry ice just before guests arrive: Using tongs or gloves, carefully add small chunks of dry ice to the punch. It will produce fog. Never ingest dry ice or let it touch bare skin.
  8. Serve immediately: Ladle punch into cups, ensuring no dry ice gets into glasses. The fog effect lasts 15-20 minutes; add more dry ice as needed.

Notes

Handle dry ice with care: use gloves or tongs, never ingest, and never seal in an airtight container. The juice base can be made up to 2 days ahead. Add soda and dry ice just before serving. For a less sweet version, skip simple syrup and use unsweetened cranberry juice and diet soda.
